Multidyne has introduced the ODA-4000 Series of Optical Distribution Amplifiers and Wavelength Re-mappers. The unit permits the replication and regeneration of one digital fiber optic signal into as many as four different fiber optic signals. One fiber optic source can be Multicast to four destinations. A 1 by 1 bi-directional version will. The input and output ports can be configured independently. All ports are available for Multimode, Singlemode and CWDM for 850, 1310, 1470, 1490, 1510, 1530, 1550, 1570, 1590 and 1610 nm wavelengths. Stand-alone and Rack-mount versions are available.

The MULTIDYNE fiber optic product line is available with Coarse Wave-division Multiplexing technology. For applications in metropolitan areas or for long-haul feeds, the more bandwidth available per fiber the higher the return on investment. It is less expensive to add an additional wavelength than it is to install another fiber. The increase in bandwidth is up to 8 times. Advances in laser and thin film technology have made it economically possible to provide more than 1 or 2 wavelengths per optical fiber. We can now multiplex 4 or 8 wavelengths on a single fiber. Just about every Multidyne fiber optic product is available with an option for a CWDM compliant laser. The supported wavelengths include 1470, 1490, 1510, 1530, 1550, 1570, 1590 and 1610 nano-meters. Multidyne offers 4 and 8 channel Mux and Demux modules for CWDM applications. Add and Drop Mux and Demux modules are also available.

Optical & Electrical Routing Switchers

The Fiber Optical Switcher revolutionizes how video is distributed and managed. The FOS is based on sate-of-the-art field proven photonic switching technology. Laser light is switched in a pure optical format, without electrical conversion, allowing the FOS to support transparent connections compatible with any video or data format including uncompressed HD video at 1.5 Gbps. Also, since the switching is done optically, the FOS eliminates video degradation. With a traditional electrical switcher, Electrical to Optical (EO) and Optical to Electrical (OE) conversions are required which cause signal degradation and jitter.

Our EOS-4000 switch is a versatile, multipurpose, non-blocking, transparent switch that provides high-speed switching between ports with minimal effect on overall network latency. The EOS4000 series is capable of switching digital signals up to 4.25 Gbps with any of its 144 ports, all in a compact 4U chassis. The EOS-4000 is designed to accept up to three modular port cards with up to forty-eight Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceiver modules per port card. Each SFP transceiver module provides the physical ports for one input-output pair. Different types of SFP transceivers support a variety of network configurations. The EOS-4000 comes equipped with hot swappable power supplies, fans and port cards to allow users to quickly replace parts without affecting system investigate performance. A CompactFlash module acts as the unit’s disk drive for the controller’s CPU and is capable of being swapped out as well. The EOS-4000’s controlling software and non-volatile configuration data resides on the module.
